We are a group of citizens who have responded to the NGO 350.org’s Global Rise for Climate call by organizing our first mobilizations in front of the European Parliament (EP) with the support of the Climate Coalition and Greenpeace (on 8/9, 6/10 and 3/11). Objective to regularly lobby politicians for urgent action against global warming and the collapse of ecosystems. After the big march on December 2, our mobilizations will resume on Sunday, January 27 in Belgium, in many French cities and, we hope, in other countries. The march on 27 January in Brussels will start at 2pm at Gare du Nord and continue to the European Parliament Place du luxembourg (negotiated with the police). The objective of the march is to call on the Belgian state and the European Council of Heads of State, which will meet on 21 and 22 March for a summit to rebuild Europe. Participants will ask the Council to respect the Paris agreements and to meet the objectives of the IPCC and the European Parliament to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030. We also support the proposal of economist Pierre Larrouturou and climatologist Jean Jouzel to set up a finance-climate pact at European level by investing €1,000 billion per year in the ecological transition.
